The electrical system is installed with good overload protection, with breakers on all circuits. The vessel has a back-up AC electrical supply. This comes via a Victron inverter from a large bank of batteries, charged by a Victron battery charger. This is reported as working when the shore power has failed in the past.
There is provision for escape from all parts of the accommodation area. Fire extinguishers are provided in the engine bay and the forepeak where the batteries are stowed. We have 2 x 12v starter batteries for the engine and 12 x 2v standby batteries supplying 24v for our standby power.
We have a diesel generator also for backup power.
3 mobile bilge pumps.

Broker's Comments
This amazing barge Luxemotor Dutch Barge is moored to a fixed pontoon sitting on the mud during low tide and floated as the tide comes in. She has stunning views up Portsmouth Harbour my particular favourite view from inside was in the galley washing up at the sink looking out of a traditional brass porthole (check out the photo). The mooring does not automatically transfer with the sale of the vessel, however the mooring and fees can be applied for directly with the marina during the purchase process.
The vessel was brought to the UK under its own power seven years ago. Prior to this she had commercial use as a cafe in the Netherlands. Once in the UK the owners underwent a refit to provide 2 double bedrooms, a luxurious shower room, spacious living room and trendy newly fitted out kitchen and don't forget the log burner fire with tiled surround. The interior is clean and dry and very homely. Usual amenities such has washer, dryer, fridge and freezer etc.The barge is very comfortable to walk around with good hand hold provision on all steps and access points through the boat. She has an amazing open deck for relaxing or entertaining and a fabulous aft deck to watch the sunset or rise. Her wheelhouse provides shelter like a little conservatory should you want to continue feeling the outdoors in the inclement UK weather!
Note regarding the engine : The engine was run up regularly for some years from this point until the diesel bug got into the fuel tank. Since then the engine has been turned over manually to ensure it remains free. With a little work and attention, it is reported that the engine should be able to be made operable.
