BoatBid combines the opportunities of an Auction with security of using a professional yacht brokerage service. When you are the Winning bid, you can then inspect, survey and sea trial the boat under contract before you buy. This transaction is handled by a trained broker.

HOW TO BID GUIDE

1. To take part in our boat auction, first you must Register . You will receive a password to access your new BoatBid account.

2. The Catalogue will be live several few weeks before bidding starts. Auctions are between 2 and 5 days.

3. When the Auction starts, click on the boat you would like to bid on and place your proposed bid in bidding box shown on the boat. Bid higher then the starting price.

4. When you place a bid, you will receive confirmation.

5. If you are outbid, you will receive a notification to bid again.

6. When the reserve price is met you will be notified.

7. When the auction ends, you will not be able to make any further bids.

8. To ensure that everyone has a fair chance of placing the winning bid the auction end time will automatically extend by 10 minutes if a bid is placed within the closing stages of the auction until no more bids are received for 10 minutes.

9. The winning bidder is highest bid, which has met or exceeded the reserve price and will be contacted by the Broker to discuss what happens next.

10. The winning bidder then pays a 10% deposit (of the winning bid price) to Boatshed.com within 5 working days, this acts as a holding deposit. The winning bidder will sign an agreement for sale which agrees to complete any inspections and professional surveys within 21 days.

Proxy Bidding:
To arrange proxy bidding, please Email: boats@boatshed.com stating the boat, your maximum bid, your login details and password. We can then place bids upon your instruction. NB: No personal identification will be shown and all data is stored securely.

Completion
You may bid on as many boats as you wish. You are only obliged to complete a boat purchase if your bid passes the boat’s reserve price and wins the bidding.
If the reserve is not met we will pass the highest bid to the seller in the form of an offer, which he or she may or may not accept.

All boats are offered subject to standard Boatshed contract.

Boats are offered in good faith and as described on Boatshed.com. If you place the winning bid and subsequently a professional marine survey shows defects or the vessel is not as described, you will be entitled to a full refund of any deposits paid, subject to standard Boatshed.com terms and conditions.
